have me.
the derelicts: the only people who have ever made him feel like he belonged. With the Derelicts, everyone's a rebel, so he's just one of many. His form of rebellion is a bit different from everyone else's, to be sure, but it's accepted (for the most part). It's the 19th Century, so of course there are more dissenters than supporters, but at least with the Derelicts he doesn't have to hide anything. He can be who he is, and damn the rules.

ENEMIES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hate me.
johan and hilde faust: He suffered for years because of his sexuality at the hands of Johan and Hilde Faust. The verbal, emotional, psychological, and physical abuse was horrendous. Just remembering makes him break out in a cold sweat.
the shadow man: He doesn't like the situation they're in with the Shadow Man, but that doesn't mean he'll stop sacrificing adults in order to maintain his freedom. If serving the Shadow Man is what it takes, then fine. He'll do it, and do it gladly.
adults in general: Adults are religious nutjobs living in their own little box of reality and refusing to allow anything foreign into their box. They close themselves off from anything that is different, hating it on principle. He hates adults.
the aristocrats: No more rules, he is sick of them and anyone who commands him to adhere to them. therefore, it follows that he does not like the Aristocrats. Rules tell him what he can and cannot do. They told him he was wrong and dirty and to be punished. The rules are the ones in the wrong, because he doesn't feel dirty when he kisses a boy, he feels wonderful. The rules only hurt him, and others like him. If the rule about not kissing boys is wrong, then who knows how many other rules could be wrong and hurting others too. Better to just do away with rules and order altogether, and let everyone kiss whoever they want.

LOVES
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
love me.
benjamin lawson✝: Benjamin was his first love. He'd had crushes growing up, but Benjamin was the first one he'd felt like the sun was shining at him when Ben smiled. He loved everything about him and wanted to boast his love to anyone who would listen. So he did, starting with his parents. ...Yeah, it did not go over well. His parents yelled, his mother cried, his father beat him. They brought in the village priest, who told him he was going to hell. He was kept locked up in the house for fear of the community gossiping and staining the family name. He was beaten, and heard only hurtful, hateful words all day long. It would have broken him. It almost did. Until he found out Benjamin liked him back.
And then nothing on Earth could touch him. He was on cloud nine. Invincible. Filled with love. The words of his parents, the priest, the villagers were all total garbage, their rules absolutely preposterous. He didn't need them, he had Benjamin, and together they would break all the rules. That's what he thought, anyway. He then learned that while he had been shut up in his house, Benjamin had been dealing with his own parents, once his secret was out. And they had driven him to suicide. (Benjamin was of a more sensitive nature.) That's when things changed.
His love for Ben became twisted into hatred for the community they lived in and the social norms that sought to confine them. After his death, he really stopped following the rules. He shut down, refusing to comply with their twisted "order" any longer. His will was iron, his hatred a furnace, shaping it, shaping him into the person he is today. Decisive, resilient, unyielding, merciless. Mountains will crumble before he will when it comes to what he thinks is right and wrong. He has cultivated his own moral code, and lives by it unflinchingly.
